Canoe & Camping Trips

Northern Extremes offers several different overnight trips ranging from 9 miles to 40 miles. All trips offer fantastic views of the White Mountains, Mt Washington and long sandy beaches for camping. Camping is also available at Canal Bridge Camping area and Fiddlehead Camping area, where you will find facilities and fire pits.

Trips start at Swan’s Falls. You won’t have to carry your canoe and gear around the dam!

 

Canal Bridge to Lovewell Pond 3 mi 2 days/1 night. Pickup around 2pm, 3pm

Swan’s Falls to Lovewell Pond 16 mi 2 days/1 night. Pickup around 2pm, 3pm

Swan’s Falls to Brownfield Bridge 20 mi 2 days/1 or 2 nights. Pickup around 3pm, 4pm

Swan’s Falls to Hiram 35 mi 3 days/2 or 3 nights. Pickup around 4pm

 

All times are approximate and depend on how much paddling one does. Popular weekend trip is starting at Swan’s Falls stopping 4-6 miles to camp, next day paddle to Lovewell Pond for pick-up. Saturday Departure times 9am or noon, midweek anytime.

Midweek Tranquility
Midweek is the perfect time for familes to enjoy the saco river and all its natural beauty. Have the river virtually to your self.

All trips you can pick your starting point and final destination.

Best beaches can be found at FiddleHead Camping Area cost is $10 per person per day and includes ice and wood. Reservations can be made by calling 1-877-343-3534 or you can just paddle there.

Otherwise you can just stop at a sandy beach for free.
